It has gone by way to fast and I pray most days that time would sloooow down. This age is a lot of fun but very exhausting. D is all about moving and pulling up on stuff. He does not like to be confined in his pack-n-play which is so difficult since I need to get things done around the house during the day. So therefore we are in the process of changing a guest room into a playroom. It is carpeted so it will be perfect for D to crawl around in without me worrying about him falling on the hardwoods or near the fireplace.

Here are some 9 month happenings:

~ pulling up on anything and everything
~ starting clapping (about 9 1/2 months)
~ crawling on all fours
~ started eating blueberries, cheerios, shredded cheese, sliced bananas
~ size 3 diapers
~ wearing some 9 month stuff although it's starting to get tight. 12 month clothes are a little big right now but there's nothing in between
~ loves swimming
~ takes 2 naps, one in the morning and one in the afternoon

out of the garden pizza

this is one of our favorite dinners to make. it is super easy and you can make it based on what's fresh in your garden.... or fridge! Our tomatoes aren't quite ready to eat yet but our basil is growing like crazy. We could have made some homemade pesto but Trader Joe's makes it so easy for you!

Ingredients:

~ 1 package of martha white pizza crust (follow directions on the back for cooking time and temperature)
~ 1 tomato, sliced
~ handful of basil leaves, washed and dried
~ fresh mozzarella, sliced about 1/2 inch or less
~ pesto for the sauce
~ little bit of olive oil for the dough

Step-by-Step (NKOTB anyone?!)

~ follow directions on back of package. Basically you mix the package with hot water (1/2 cup I think) then roll into a ball of dough, brush with olive oil and let sit for about 5 minutes.
~ After 5 minutes press dough out onto pizza pan, cookie sheet whatever you use to cook pizza.
~ Prick the dough with a fork all over and place in oven for 5 minutes.
~ take pan out and "dress" your pie!

We used pesto out of a jar for the sauce but you could use whatever you like.
We then layered tomato's, basil and fresh mozzarella on the top.
Cook for about 10 minutes.....

yum! I buy dried fruits to have as a snack and then after a few days of my "eating healthy" kick I forget they are up there. I also had some rolled oats leftover from this recipe. So I googled { i heart google} homemade granola and found my inspiration for my kitchen sink granola. I call it kitchen sink granola b/c well it's basically something you can make from anything under your kitchen sink....ok not literally since most everything under the kitchen sink is some sort of cleaning product but you get the point.

<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; Tommy Martin baptized him. It was such a special day and we were so glad so many of our family and close friends were there. Davis wore a gown that his uncle Matt wore when he was baptized. We had a luncheon after the service to celebrate the big day and Davis slept through most of it! And I find myself saying those same things to pregnant moms who are probably thinking "thanks Debbie Downer". On one hand it is sad to see them grow up but on the other hand it is fun to watch them learn new things and start to do more than poop and sleep.

Above is the face that Davis make 90% of the time. He always looks concerned about something. If Davis could write a bio/resume I think this is what he would have to say:

My name is Williams Davis Martin but you can call me Davis. I weigh almost 18 pounds I have been alive for 223 days or if it's easier for you 7 months and 11 days. I like math. I have counted one tooth but feel others coming in. I usually feel my other teeth coming in late at night and I like to let my mom and dad know they are coming in.

I like to take long walks around the neighborhood or Chastain Park. Other forms of exercise I like are bouncing in my bouncy seat, crawling around the rug in the living room, rolling around in my room and rocking in my chair. I love to read. Some of my favorite books are: Llama Llama Red Pajama, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, really anything by Mo Willems because he gets me, Tumble Bumble, and..... the Bible :) I love music and love when my dad plays the guitar and sings to me. My favorite songs/bands are Vampire Weekend (this was the first band I "heard" while in my mom's tummy and they aren't as scary sounding as their name implies), Isty Bitsy Spider, There's a Hold in My Bucket, Baby Monkey and anything by Baby Einstein.

Reading with my mom

listening to dad play the guitar

me and mom at music class

I have two dogs that I love to pet and by pet I mean pull their fur by hand fulls. Baxter stays away from me most of the time but Georgia loves to lick me. I had all intentions of blogging <strike>daily</strike>...<strike>weekly</strike>...monthly....yeah that isn't happening. So here it goes.

I love reading other blogs and seeing what some of their "favorite things" are. Favorite Things Oprah style, although I doubt anyone will have a heart attack reading my list. These are some things that I'm loving right now, little things that bring me joy :)

First up: Nail Polish. I love Essie nail polish. It dries super quick, all the colors are pretty, it's cheap and I am super excited that CVS and Target now carry it. These are some of my fav's:

Ballet Slippers

Escapades

St. Lucia Lilac

My next obsession is Chobani Yogurt, the pomegranate one! Delish. There are pomegranate seeds at the bottom.

Two words. Flip Flops. Another two words. Tory Burch. My husband knows my shoe obsession with Tory B. and has brought me a pair back two times after going on bachelor party weekends. (One of those weekends being the time we moved into the parsonage, when I was 7 months pregnant.....just saying....so yeah I deserved them) So if you or anyone you know is having a bachelor party feel free to invite Thomas. Maybe I'll get another pair out of it!

Nerd Alert......This next thing has made my life a lot easier. Making Davis' baby food is super easy with the help of a steamer basket I got from World Market for $4. Why did I not have one of these before? Ok back to fun stuff

Website's that offer deals of 40-90% off top quality goods. He has a new album coming out in June and a tour for July. Fingers crossed he will come to ATL.

And lastly King of Pops. Being pregnant last summer was pretty rough but one good thing about it was getting in the car and heading to "the corner" to get a KOP. Below is their mission statement....pulled from their website.

Mission: To provide an ecologically responsible, fresh, all natural frozen treat in a fun neighborhood environment.
Our goal is to be a waste free company. I subscribe to 8 magazines. Eight. And I don't have the time to read through half of them. My goal is to keep only the issues for January of this year and to give away the ones from last year. I always say I am going to start a notebook with pages I tear out with recipes I want to try, fashion tips, home decor ideas or articles about parenting I think will come in handy later on. So that is my goal for this year. In the meantime I need to start a bag of magazines for Thomas to take in to work.

magazines I subscribe to:

instyle - i've been reading instyle since....highschool
people stylewatch - love People so this is even better. Combines two things: gossip and fashion. Love reading these at the beach/pool
coastal living - i love the beach and this mag. is everything beach - clothes, food, home furnishings/decor, lifestyle, travel
southern living - my mom always gives this magazine to me as a gift every year. Can't go wrong with this mag. I've already thrown out all the sweets we had left over from Christmas. Check. I had a salad for lunch. Check. I haven't bought anything today. Check. Bourbon Street was kinda sketchy, not gonna lie! I can't wait till "free time" tomorrow to walk around and explore and take pictures of the buildings here. I love seeing all the fleurs-de-lis incorporated into the buildings. They even use a fleur-de-lis as the O in Fox news here?! Classic!

Our room has one of those iPod docks and I have been very pleased with the shuffle selection. Playlist for the night:
1.
